A BIG CONTRACT

Hubert Opperman has signed the most important contract of his life. The announcement was made last week that the famous cyclist was married on January 14 last to an old school mate. The wedding was kept a secret, only intimate members of the two families concerned being present. Mrs. Opperman is an old school mate of the champion cyclist and a keen follower of the cycling game, having witnessed every important contest that Opperman has been engaged in for the last five years. As the honeymoon was only a short one, the present intentions of the happy pair are to go abroad as soon as Opperman returns from France. The Australian has had some tempting offers to ride behind the motors in America and it looks as if the American public will have the opportunity of seeing Australia’s famous cyclist.
