Captain and Mrs. Crump went South by the Limited last evening l . pr. Chapman was a passenger for the South on last evening’s Limited. Archdeacon Williams arrived in Auckland this morning from Taihape. The Hon. George Fowlds returned to Auckland this morning by the Limited. Mr. R. A. Lippincott, who has been visiting the South, returned to Auckland to-day. Mr. and Mrs. D. Nelson were among the arrivals from the South by this morning’s Limited. Mr. J- Snell, deputy commissioner of rural intermediate credits, returned to Wellington last evening after a short visit to Auckland. Mr. T Hinton, chairman of the Central Power Board, Hamilton, since its inception in 1921, was re-elected to the position yesterday. The Rev. J. Lamb Harvey, minister 0 f st. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Symonds Street, will return to Scotland early in July. He has been in the Dominion for 6i years. The Rev. A. M. Ellii'fe, the Rev. Selwyn C. Burrow, Messrs. George R. Allen, Arthur Kitto and G. I>. Bell were among recent Auckland callers at the High Commissioner’s Office, London. Mr. H. H. Sterling, the newly-ap-pointed general manager of the New ealand Railways, joined the Limited at Frankton Junction last evening, en route for Wellington. Mr. Cyril L. Westcott, general manager for Australia and New Zealand for the firm of Messrs. C. C. Wakefield and Co., Ltd., has arrived in Wellington from Sydney. Mr. A. J. Shepherd, headmaster of the Thames Central School, and Mr. Scott, headmaster of the Thames South School, have been promoted headmasters of Te Awamutu High School and Huntly High School respectively. The Rev. N. Williams (Gisborne), who has been curate at Birkensliaw, near Bradford (England) since leaving Cambridge, has offered his services to the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel and will probably go to Perak, Federated Malay States, in October. Mr. P. M. H. Renner, after having acted as secretary of the Secondary Schools’ Assistants’ Association for 17 years, has severed his connection with that body. He has been appointed headmaster of the Rongotea Boys’ College. At the annual meeting of the association a resolution was passed conveying the association’s appreciation of Mr. Renner’s services and a presentation was made to him. HOTEL REGISTER Grand. —Mr. P.
