PLUNKET PROGRESS

IN NORTHERN WAIROA BRANCHES FREE FROM DEBT Six years of progress, with the Plunket and women’s rest rooms entirely free from debt to-day, is the gratifying position of the Dargavjile branch of the Plunket Society. The president, Mrs. A. Harding, in her report to the annual meeting, stated that the executive and conVnittee desired to place on record their extreme gratitude to their many helpers arid friends. The report was a long one, in which special mention was made o! Nurse Graham, who after four and a-half years of service was compelled to sever her connection with the Dargxville branch, through urgent family reasons, and seek a post nearer her home in Southland. Nurse Luoni was in temporary charge when Nurse Graham’s resignation was received in January. In order to avoid further dislocation of the work, Nurse Luoni, at considerable personal inconvenience, kindly consented to carry on until' a suitable permanent appointment could be made. Nurse ' Luoni’s report showed the total new cases for the past year to bo 260, viz., mothers 120, babies 121, expectant mothers 19. The Ruawai sub-branch also submitted reports, that of the president (Mrs. E. Bailey) showing the work in that district also to have been successful. The nurse’s report showed the total new cases for the year to be 25, viz., mothers 14, babies 11. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow: Patron, Hon. J. G. Coates; president, Mrs. A.
