FELIX KEPT ON WALKING

VAIN SEARCH FOR WORK LONG TRIP ON FOOT Felix Charles Tanner, aged 26, walked from Wellington to Auckland in search of work, but did not find it. He was charged at the Police Court to-day with being found without lawful excuse in the Harbour Board sheds, Freeman’s Bay. Senior-Sergeant Cummings said that accused was a lazy man, and had been sleeping in the sheds for several nights. Accused: I can’t get work, and I walked from Wellington to here in search of it.

Mr. Cummings: I think he came up because it’s warmer here.

Tanner was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence within 12 months.
