VALUE OF ADVERTISING
PREPARING FOR BIG EXHIBITION ALL SPACE TAKEN UP Arrangements are well advanced for the Auckland Advertising Exhibition. which opens on May 22. and will be the first big winter season attraction. At a meeting of the management committee yesterday afternoon a report was received that all space had been taken up in the Town Hall concert chamber, supper halls, and vestibules. The official preparations have been entered upon with enthusiasm. The publicity committee has presented a special design of a symbolic figure spreading the seeds of prosperity. The colour scheme for the advertising of the exhibition will be red. French grey and blue. The advertisements will be original in character, supported by the slogan. “Advertising Benefits Everyone.” Uniformity of style and general attractiveness will be features of the displays. The advertisement character competition is expected to create great interest, and a special newspaper announcement will convey suggestions to intending competitors. A letter has been received by the secretary that the supply of overseas posters is arriving by the steamer Rimutaka. and the Government Publicity Office is undertaking delivery. The posters will adorn the main gallery and will make a fine display of the foremost commercial art. An institution associated with a well-known condiment firm has signified its intention of making a novel exhibit. Industrial and other suitable pictures will be screened in the supper hall and an Auckland firm which makes improved projection machines is lending complete apparatus for the occasion.
