Road-Hog Loses Driver’s Licence
FIVE YEARS' SUSPENSION 56 M.P.H. IN EPSOM The activities of a young Auckroad hog were restricted for Se next five years by Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., at the Police Court to-day. T Dennis, whose age is 25. had five harues against him —two of dangerous driving, one of having no silencer on his motor-cycle. one of driving without a licence, and one of giving o false name and address. It was stated that Dennis had five nrevious convictions for dangerous driving and in 1925 his licence was cancelled for 12 months. The traffic inspector for the One Tree Hill Road Board, who gave evidence on the latest dangerous driving charges, said that he had seen Dennis travelling at about 50 miles an hour on the Manukau Road, but on that occasion he was not able to catch him. The next time he saw Dennis was when he was doing 56 miles an hour between the Epsom Post Office and Epsom Avenue. Witness gave chase and overtook accused. On the first dangerous driving charge Dennis was fined £lO, and £5 on the second. He was fined £ 2 for giving a false name, and £1 for driving without a licence. He was also disqualified from holding a driving licence for five years..
