ROADSIDE TELEPHONES
TO REPORT BREAKDOWNS A very useful suggestion was put before officers of the A.A.A. at Hamilton last week by Mr. E. P. Coles, who considered that it would be a great convenience and comfort to motorists if at stated intervals along all main roads telephones were available to members to ring up the patrolmen in case of breakdowns. It would, of course, be too expensive for the association to erect such telephones, but if arrangements could be made with the owners of telephones to make the use of these available to motorists, the convenience would be greatly appreciated. Notice boards could be erected outside the places where such telephones were available. Mr. G. W. Hutchinson, secretary of the A. A.A. considered the sugestion an excellent one and promised to place it before his executive.
