98 YEARS OF AGE TO-DAY (From Our Own Correspondent J THAMES. Monday. The 98th birthday of Thames’ oldest resident, Mr. Thomas Dun. of Sealey Street, will be celebrated to-mor-row. Mr. Dun enjoys good health, and maintains a lively interest in local affairs. He was born in County Tyrone, Ireland, in 1830, and left on Christmas Day, 1864, for New Zealand. He arrived in Auckland six months later and settled at Mangawai, North Auckland and then in Otahuhu. He was in the rush to the Thames goldfields in 1867, and has resided here since.
