Pearce Wins N.S. W. Single Sculls
(Australian P.A.—United Service) SYDNEY, Sunday. In the Inter-State eight-oared race on the Nepean River, over a course of three miles, the result was: Western Australia, 1: Queensland, 2: Tasmania, 3. Ail the States competed. Won by a length and a-quarter. The winners hold the K-ins: s Cup.
The single sculls race, over two and a-half miles, resulted: Pearce, NewSouth Wales, 1; Marsh, Tasmania, 2; Cambridge. Victoria, 3. Won by 10 lengths. Time, 15m 30 2-ss, a record for the event. Pearce will be the Australian sculling representative at the Olympic Games at Amsterdam.
