CANARY CLUB SHOW
HIGH QUALITY OF EXHIBITS The general standard of exhibits at the annual show of the Auckland Canary and Cage Bird Club, held on Saturday in the Hall of Psychology, was very high, in the opinion of the judge, Mr. W. Hanson. Two of the birds, Mr. P. Graveson’s light mule, and the best bird in the exhibition, shown by Miss E. Thorne, of Ponsonby, he considered capable of -winning a prize in any world competition. Following are the awards: Yellow Yorkshire. —Mr. W. Pitts, 1; Mr. W. Moore, 2; Miss E. Thorne, 3. Yellow ticked or variegated: Mrs. Wingrave, 1; Mr. R. F. Mitchell, 2; Mr. McMillan, 3. Buff Yorkshire. —Mr. W. Moore, 1 and 2; Miss E. Thorne, 3. Buff ticked, marked or variegated: Mr. F. Woods, 1: Mr. W. Moore, 2: Miss E. Thorne, 3. Cinnamon: Mr. J. Gilbert, 1; Mr. F. Wood, 2; Mr. J. Gilbert, 3. Green: Mrs. Wingrave, 1. Norwich, yellow ticked or variegated.— Mr. W. Cowell, 1. Clear buff: Mr. R. Kneebone, 1; Mr. G. Munro, 2; Mr. P. Graveson, 3. Buff ticked, marked or variegated: Miss E. Thorne, 1; Mr. W. Cowell. 2; Mr. P. Graveson, 3.
