SOCIAL CLUB

GAS EMPLOYEES MEET The second meeting of the session of the Gas Employees’ Social Club was held last evening in the Pitt Street demonstration room. A lecture upon the gassification of coal was delivered by Mr. Jas. Lowe, general manager, who traced the history of coal from its origin, and dealt with the modern scientific methods of treatment for the extraction of gases for commercial use. The next meeting of the club will be on May 16, when a lantern lecture Is to be delivered to members. Mr. J. J. Rogers, vice-president of the club,' presided.
