HIS OWN FAULT

DIVORCE PETITION FAILS WIFE OBTAINS VERDICT “The weakness of the petition* er’s case is that his wife has established that if there wee separation it was brought about by his own fault.” Thus Mr. Justice Blair in the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon when dismissing the petition of William George Bright (Mr. Richmond), who sought a divorce from Maria Catherine Bright (Mr. Sullivan.). The case had been adjourned from last week to allow' of legal argument to be heard, but his Honour intimated yesterday that there was no necessity for this, as the case seemed to decide itself on the facts. The case was that in which the husband alleged his wife to be more fond of the Church than she was of her home. He also alleged that she was slovenly and that iho neglected the home. His Honour said ho had no doubt but that the petitioner habitually swore at his wife and made her very unhappy. The whole of his conduct brought about the separation, and because he could not force her out of the house he left. The petition was dismissed w tl» costs against the petitioner on th» highest scale.
