Burglars Loot Newmarket Shop

RADIO GOODS STOLEN PARTY ON THE PREMISES Goods worth more than £IOO were taken from “Radio House,” Broadway, Newmarket, last night. The owner of the business, Mr. H. A. Chambers, was at his shop last evening, leaving at 8.45 to visit the city. When he returned about 10 o’clock he found the back door burst open and the shop ransacked. The thieves had drilled a hole through the lock before forcing the door. Considerable discrimination had been shown in choosing the loot, which mainly consisted of radio sets, valves and head-phones. Mr. Chambers is of the opinion that there were several persons implicated as the goods were bulky and could not have been conveniently carried away by one, or even two, men. The burglars brought their own refreshments, and left empty bottles in the shop.
