NON-STOP 410 MILES

NEW RAILWAY RECORDS LONDON TO SCOTLAND .><& British Official Wireless RUGBY, Sunday. The London Midland and Scottish Railway Company on Friday established two new world’s records for the longest non-stop run. Two expresses travelled from Euston station, London, to Glasgow and Edinburgh respectively—distances of 410 J miles and 3991 miles—without a halt. They thus eclipsed the company’s previous record of 299 i miles from London to Carlisle on the same service. These record runs involved in both cases two immense climbs over the Shaw Summit, in Westmorland, 900 feet high, and the Beattock Summit, in Lanarkshire, 1,000 feet high.
