TRANSFERS AND STEPS IN RANK Press Association. WELLINGTON, To-day. The Commissioner of Police, Mr. W. D. Mcllveney, announces the following transfers and appointments: Senior-Sergeant P. J. O’Hara, transferred from Dannevirke to Christchurch in place of the late Senior-Sergeant Lewis. Sergeant S. G. Martin, from New Plymouth, to the charge of Dannevirke. Sergeant T. I. McGregor, from Christchurch to New Plymouth. Sergeant F. Hammond, of Auckland, takes charge of the Ponsonby station in place of Sergeant Waterman, retired. Sergeant L. R. Capp, of Auckland, to Dargaville, in place of Sergeant Griffiths, retired. Sergeant G. H. Lambert, of Auckland, takes charge of Otahuhu, in place of Sergeant Parsons, retired. Constable P. Doyle, of Te Awamutu, promoted to sergeant, and transferred to Auckland. Constable Bruce Thompson, of Ellerslie, promoted to sergeant, to remain in Auckland. Constable S. G. Clist, of Taneatua, promoted to sergeant at Auckland. Constable J. Martin, of Napier, to sergeant, at Christchurch. Constable J. Abel, Lumsden, to be sergeant at Invercargill in place of Sergeant Hewitt, who is transferred to the detective branch. Constable E. Burnett, of Coromandel, to be sergeant, at Auckland. Constable F. C. Harrison, of Patutahi, Gisborne, promoted to sergeant at Cnristchurch. Detective J. Thompson, of Christchurch, is transferred to the detective office at Wellington. Constable H. McKay, of Addington, ts to take charge of a new station being opened at North New Brighton. Christchurch. There are also a number of minor transfers.
