BUTTER AND CHEESE The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its London office as at the close of business last week:— Butter.—Slow. 164 s to 166 s a cwt. Cheese. —Slow. 96s to 97s a cwt. Frozen Meat.—The market for wethers is more active owing to shorter supplies from the Argentine. There is a good demand for ewes. The advance in price of lambs has checked the demand. There is a better inquiry for beef ana the outlook is brighter. Wethers, light, 6d to 7>d a lb: heavy, 5d to 53d; ewes, 4id to sid; lambs, twos 9?>d to lOd, eights S|d to 93d. fours Bid to S£d, seconds 9d to 93d: Ox hinds, 43d to s\d: ox fores.
