GOOD SAMARITAN HAS BAD PURPOSE
ROBBED DRUNKEN MAN BOTH CALL ON POLICE i Press Association. WELLINGTON. Towiay. Yesterday morning a man named Joseph Scott called at the Centra i Police Station and said that whilc drunk on Saturday night a stranger took him home and put him to bed. When he awoke in the morning he i discovered that £3O was missing fr >m his pocket. A tew hours later a labourer named \ Joseph Kelly also called at the station j and said that he had looked afte Scott and had taken £ll from tee ! latter's pocket bu» had returned’t r.— I money. I Inquiries were made and Kelly si:!sequently admitted taking £l2 I - and ! spending £1 19s. An attempt wa~ made to get into touch with Scott, bu he was in a drunken condition, and b police were obliged to take Kelly s i version.
