C. A. LARSEN IN DOCK

TEMPORARY REPAIRS AT DUNEDIN TENDERS CALLED FOR Press Association. DUNEDIN, Friday. Tenders for temporary repairs to the damaged whaler C. A. Larsen will close on Monday. It is likely there will be two tenders from Port Chalmers, one from Christchurch and one from Auckland. Temporary repairs are to be done here, and the whaler will probably go to Norway or some European port for permanent repairs. Lloyd’s surveyor, when asked whether alternative tenders for temporary and permanent repairs were being invited, replied that both kinds of work were included in the specifications.

The cost of salvaging the damaged whaler and bringing her from Stewart Island to Port Chalmers is said to have been about £25.000.
