OIL INSURANCE
FIRE BOARD’S COMPLAINT LEGISLATION DELAYED Press Association. WELLINGTON, To-day. At to-day’s meeting of the Wellington Fire Board the question of oil fires was briefly considered. It was stated that big oil companies operating in the Dominion carried no local Insurances on their stocks, although they were probably insured from well to store elsewhere. As a .result the companies were not contributing to the board’s funds, although enjoying the protection of the board’s services. This, it was stated, was one of the questions under consideration for future legislation. It was stated that recommendations made nearly a year ago at the Fire Boards* Conference, had been held up by the inaction of the Department of Internal Affairs. As a result of the Government’s inaction, fire regulations throughout the Dominion could not be completed. It. was therefore decided to approach the department again.
