JAPANESE WARSHIPS
CRUISE IN SOUTH PACIFIC AT AUCKLAND JULY 31 Press Association. WELLINGTON, To-day. The Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. J. Rolleston, announced to-day the itinerary of the Japanese training squadron, consisting of H.I.J.M. ships Yakumo and Idzumo, which is to cruise in the Pacific this year. Calls will be made at Shanghai, Hong-Kong and Manlia. The vessels arrive at Singapore on May 28, subsequently touching at Batavia, whence they sail for Australian ports. Arriving at Wellington on July 25, they will stay three days there, and then leave for Auckland, where they will remain from July 31 to August 4. The warships will sail from Auckland for Suva and Japan, callijig at Honolulu and elsewhere on the voyage home.
