Twelve members of the permanent staff of the New Zealand Office in London have been dismissed as an economy measure. They include an Anzac and two Imperial soldiers from the office, with service ranging from eight to 16 years.

The total cost of the High Commissioner’s Office was set down last year in the Estimates at £47,430. This aggregate included the sum of over £25,000 in wages for clerks and messengers. In addition, £1,500 was provided for miscellaneous wages.
