NEW R.S.A. PRESIDENT The president of the Auckland Returned Soldiers’ Association this year is Lieut.-Colonel T. H. Dawson, C.M.G., who saw service in South Africa as well as in the Great War. Lieut.-Colonel Dawson is still serving as officer commanding the First Battalion. Auckland Regiment. He was elected to his new office at the annual meeting of the association last evening. Mr. Sinclair Reid, the retiring president, was appointed a vice-president in the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. S. A. Carr, the other vicepresidents being Messrs. A. C. A. oexton and E. W. Inder. The other offices were filled as follows: Auditor, Mr. P. J. F. Kennedy; treasurer, Mr. T. S. Miller; executive (six vacancies), Messrs. M. K. Draffin, A. E. H. Lewis, W. R. Wise, G. E. Simeon, A. S. Lee, and T. Long; delegates to Dominion conference, Messrs. E. H. Sharp and T. Long. A resolution placing on record appreciation of the services of Mr. Reid as president was carried unanimously. A tribute was paid to the efforts of the secretary, Mr. E. H. Sharp.
