PREMIER’S SCORN
LINDBERGH SERUM TRIP “VULGAR PUBLICITY STUNT ” LIFE OF HERO RISKED (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) {Australian Press Association) Reed. 9.5 a.m. QUEBEC, Thursday. DESCRIBING the spectacular fjjght of Colonel Charles Lindbergh from New York to Quebec with serum for Lieutenant Floyd Bennett as pure bluff, the State Premier, the Hon. L. A. Tascherau, and the provincial secretary, the Hon. L. A. David, K.C., scornfully criticised those responsible.
Both declared that there was plenty of antl-pneftmonia serum here, and that rushed from New York was not the right kind. Mr. Tascherau bitterly reproved making a great hero risk his life on a vulgar American publicity stunt. The funeral service of Lieutenant
Bennett was attended by his widow, Commander Byrd, and members of the Government. A huge crowd watched the body drawn on a gun-carriage to the station, where a detail of the Royal 22nd Regiment fired a salute over the casket. Six airplanes circled over the cortege, dipping in salute periodically.
