YACHT PROTECTION

ST. MARY’S BAY ANCHORAGE On the recommendation of the harbourmaster, the Auckland Harbour Board has proclaimed the whole of St. Mary’s Bay boat harbour a protected anchorage for yachts and launches. The engineer reported that 3,134 cubic yards of stone were used in topping off the embankment, making the total quantity of stone placed in it to date 107,194 cubic yards. On account of the work nearing completion the quarry staff had been reduced. “The whole question of a permanent home for the rowing clubs in Auckland” came up for consideration after having been deferred for six months, and was referred to the board in committee, the engineer and the harbourmaster being instructed to report.
