MOUNT ALBERT BOROUGH

DEPUTY-MAYOR APPOINTED At a meeting of the Mount Albert Borough Council, presided over on Tuesday evening by the Mayor, Mr. L. E. Rhodes, Mr. J. H. Langley was appointed deputy-Mayor in place of Mr, R. J. Allingham, who has retired. It was reported by the building inspector that, for the year ended March 31, 500 permits had been issued to a value of £157,501. Of this number 151 were for dwellings costing £122,855. Copies of the competitive designs for laying out the proposed Gribblehurst Park in Cabbage Tree Swamp will be circulated among the councillors for inspection before being • considered at a special meeting.
