Cahill, secretary of the Auckland Commercial Travellers’ Club, who has been on a visit to Sydney and Melbourne, returned by the Marama to-day. Mr. A. Sinclair O’Connor, of Auckland,* will leave by the Limited tomorrow evening for Wellington. He tfjll be absent until the end of the week. Sir John Bell, a member of the Indian Council of State, and an ex-presi-dent of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce, arrived in Auckland to-day by the Marama from Sydney. Mr. S. G. Black, of Sydney, who is associated with Burns, Philp, South Seas Company, Ltd., arrived in Auckland to-day by the Marama from Sydney. He will proceed to Wellington. The directors of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, announce the appointment to the local board for New Zealand of Sir George Elliott, chairman of the Bank of New Zealand. Dr. S. Kenrick. F.R.C.S., who returned by the Marama this morning, has been studying in England for two years. He has been specialising in women’s diseases, and for a time was senior resident surgeon at the Chelsea Hospital for Women. Dr. Kenrick also studied at Glasgow. The Hon. F. J. Rolleston (AttorneyGeneral and Minister of Justice) will leave Wellington for Auckland this evening to represent the Government at the Anzac Lay memorial ceremony to-morrow.
