CAUGHT AT LAST

YOUNG THIEF ARRESTED THREE-YEAR-OLD CRIME (From Our Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Monday. Three years ago a young man named Leonard George Coley broke into a tobacconist’s shop in Ward Street, Hamilton, and stole tobacco and 8s in cash. In the Police Court to-day he pleaded guilty to the offence. Evidence was given by James Andrew Emerson that his premises were broken into on February 21, 1925, and goods and money to the value of £3 10s 4d were stolen. Witness did not know the accused. Acting-Detective Kearney, of Wellington, said accused made a statement admitting the offence. Accused was at present serving a sentence. Accused was committed to the Supreme Court, Wellington, for sentence.
