DEVONPORT LABOUR MEETING

ELECTION OF OFFICERS The annual general meeting of the Devonport Branch of the Labour Party was held in the Masonic Hall last evening, Mr. C. Bailey presiding. The elections of president and vicepresident were adjourned. Mr. C. Bailey was elected secretary, Mr. Hardy treasurer and Messrs. Redferns, Munro, Jackson, Marino and Williams, committee. Mr. A. Osborne, Labour candidate for Waitemata, criticised the Reform Party, stating that the P.P.A. attack was evidence that the Reform Party was disintegrating. Arrangements were made for a “rally,” at which Auckland city mem- , bers will speak.
