Grim Plot of Reds
MUNITION DEPOT FOUND IN FRANCE TERROR REIGN PLANNED (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (United Service) Reed. 9.5 a.m. LONDON. Monday. The “Daily Mail” correspondent at Perpignan. France, says that the finding of a bomb at the municipal gasworks at Rivesaltes, the manager of which is a notorious Communist, who was recently imprisoned for contempt of court, enabled the police to discover a Communist munition depot, believed to be intended to supply terrorists planning outrages on a vast scale in Italy, Spain and the South of France. A search of the house of the Communist agitator Macary revealed several pounds of blasting powder, detonators, cartridges and fuses. It is believed that Communists removed the munition dumps, several of which are suspected to be in the district. The police are of the opinion that the bomb was placed in the gasworks to avenge a comrade’s imprisonment. They describe Rivesaltes as a Red city, and apparently the Communists’ general headquarters.
