NEW MISSION SHIP
THE DOVE LAUNCHED A missionary ship to replace the Robert Land, which met with disaster in a hurricane in the New' Hebrides on August 15 of last year, was dedicated by the Moderator-General of the Presbyterian Church, Dr. ScottWest, at Halvorsen’s boat sheds, Neutral Bay, Sydney, last week. The ribbon was cut by Mrs. McKenzie, widow' of the Dr. Dwan McKenize, of Melo, New Hebrides. Mrs. _ McKenzie expressed the hope that the new boat would prove of great service in the Church’s missionary work. As it- glided into the water the boat was christened The Dove. The Dove was provided for Mr. Mansfield by resolution of the General Assembly of the New Zealand Presbyterian Church after the missionary had reported the loss of the Robert Land. It has an overall measurement of 30ft.,'with a beam of Sft. 3in., draws 2ft. of water, and Is fitted v'ith sails and a Kelvin engine capable of giving a speed of S to 10 knots. The vessel is constructed of kauri, and cost between £SOO and £9OO. COME TO SYMONDS STREET ON TUESDAY.
