OVERDRAFT RATES
PLEA FOR REDUCTION As competitive outside rates for deposits are so high, the associated banks are finding it difficult to reduce the overdraft rates, but the_ question of reduction is receiving close attention. A report to this effect was given to the Council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce yesterday by tlie executive. which had considered whether the banking returns for the first quarter of IS2S did not warrant early action on the part of the banks. The associated chambers have been asked for a report on the suggestion
