The Frankton Boxing Association held its annual meeting evening, Mr. J. McKinnon presiding. The balance sheet disclosed a lors of £sl.
The annual report stated that while the season’s operations were quite su cessful from a boxing point of - iew, they had not been productive of the profit which the performances merited. The committee was of opinion that this was due to a general falling off in public interest, which might be attributed to the scarcity of first-claos professional boxers in the country. Mr. R. T. Reid wrote promising ’o give a cup for competition. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. J. Fraser Smith; president, Mr. R. T. Reid; / : ce-presidents, Messrs. F. Baker, N. G. Bray, G. Gillett, H. G. Sergei, L. W. Faville, W. A. Jordan, H. Burch; general committee, Messrs. H. R. McLachlan. H. W. Rickett, J. Smith, E. Vernall. N. Vernall, F. Whittaker. J. McKmnon, P. , G. Nash, W. Vernall, F. Williams and A. Salter. 1
