MT. EDEN BOROUGH
DOMES AT INTERSECTIONS REVISION OF BY-LAWS The report of the traffic inspector to the Mount Eden Borough Council last evening stated that domes had been placed at the intersections of all important roads in the borough. It was necessary to illuminate the domes at night. The inspector recommended that a particular type of light be installed on all existing domes and that if domes were required for the intersections the same type should be purchased. The inspector also suggested that the revised by-laws already framed dealing with pedal-cycles, horse-drawn vehicles, damage to apparatus In parks, cleaning and repairing vehicles on highways, and motor and other vehicles using the domain, be adopted. The inspector’s recommendation and suggestion were referred to the finance committee for a report. During the month of March 24 building permits, to the value of £7,407, were granted. The finance committee recommended that the Mayor of Wellington be advised that the council approved generally of the scheme as submitted for unemployment insurance, but is of the opinion that working details of the scheme would require further investigation. It was also rocommended that consideration of the report on the trolley buses be deferred for the present. PA ON MT.
