PROBATIONER BEFORE COURT
FORGERY AND THEFT (From Our Own Correspondent j TE AROHA. Monday. Ernest Alexander Cooper, aged 22 r now on probation for theft, appeared in the Te Aroha Police Court on charges of forgery and uttering, and also with steading a ring valued at £2, and £ 6 in money. Accused had made a statement admitting the theft of the ring, and also of stealing the cheque, which he filled in and cashed. He denied stealing the money. After evidence, had been heard accused Was committed to the Supreme Court at Hamilton for sentence on the forgery charge, and was committed for trial on the charges of stealing the ring and the money. Bail was allowed in one surety of £2OO and accused's own surety of £IOO.
