BACKERS FORGETFUL
WHEN Great Delight ran second to Peter Pirate at Wanganui he registered 3.35 1-5 off a 3.48 mark for 12 furlongs, and did his work in a manner that suggested he would go further with the business. The son of Kea Dillon was trotted out at Hawera in a two-mile go and after disputing the lead witfvTamatakuru for three parts of the journey finished up with Kevin Brae just behind the placed horses. His form cer entitled him to respect at New Plymouth, where he was on a 4.48 mark, and Great Delight beat all except Hostess. Strange to say, he was the outsider in the field of 10 and paid a price that brought great delight to his few supporters.
