REPAIRS TO SHlP.—Lloyd’s agent at Panama reports that the New Zealand Government steamer Maui Pomare, which is going to Apia, has developed trouble in her machinery. Repairs are being carried out.—Australian P.A.-United Service. U.S. AND NICARAGUA.—Over 100 members of the All-America Antiimperialistic League were arrested after they had held a demonstration outside the White House as a protest against the American policy in Nicaragua.—Australian Press Association. FREE AFTER 16 YEARS.—An old crime is recalled by the release from prison of Allan Moore, who was sentenced 16 years ago to imprisonment for the term of his natural life, for burglary and wounding at the home of Mr. Geoffrey Syme, one of the proprietors of the newspaper “Melbourne Age.”—Australian P.A. U.S. AND WORLD COURT. —In the American House of Representatives Mr. G. H. Tinkham, Republican member for Massachusetts, introduced a motion demanding the withdrawal by the United States of its offer to join the International Court of Justice at The Hague, subject to reservations.— Australian P.A.-United Service. GREEK CONSPIRACY.—A military conspiracy has been discovered which aimed to restore General Pangalos, the former dictator of Greece, to the dictatorship. Three lieutenants and several non-commissioned officers will be court-martialled. General Pangalos will, as a measure of precaution, be transferred to Crete.—United Service.
