UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF A NOVEL SUGGESTION An unusual offer was made to the City Council last evening as a means of relieving unemployment. ACESSRS. LAURIE BROTHERS offered their brickyard of 27$ acres. Hepburn Road, Waikumete, as a home for unemployed. In addition to the plant there are two houses and two shacks. The partnership merely stipulated that they should be paid a royalty of 2s 6d a 1,000 on all bricks sent out of the yard. The offer was sent to the Works Committee for a report.
