RATEPAYERS APATHETIC MR. F. S MORTON RETURNED Of the 6,000 names on the Onehunga Borough roll, only 1.145, or about onefifth of the electors, recorded their votes yesterday, when an election was held to fill the vacancy on the borough council caused by the retirement of Mr. F. Yockney, announced the result at the borough council offices shortly before S o’clock last evening, and Messrs. Morton, Pilkington and Dodd suitably addressed a moderate assembly of interested ratepayers.
