LURE OF DRINK
MAN STEALS WHISKY DEBAUCH IN COAL CELLAR “He’ll do anything to get drink,” said Sub-Inspector McCarthy when Cecil William Rhodes, aged 49, appeared at the Police Court to-day and pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing whisky valued at £ 6 Is. Chief-Detective Hammond said that accused had broken open a case of whisky, stolen five bottles, and gone to a coal cellar to consume it. Rhodes was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment.
