GROWN-UPS ON SWINGS

OPENING AT OMIHA, WAIHEKE Twelve grown-ups commandeered the new swings at Omiha, Waiheke Island on Saturday, while the children stood by In astonishment. It was not the opening campaign of the “back to simple delights” league, but the official opening of the new swings. The adults were perfectly justified because they were testing the safety of the apparatus. Miss Whittington declared the swings open. The large one is 15ft long and capable of carrying 12 children and there are three single swings for the tiny tots. They are the result of the efforts of Mr. W. Brown and friends who organised a flower show in December. The proceeds, amounting to £S, purchased the materials and Messrs. Leslie and Brown put them together. The children especially have been grateful to the hard-working committee.
