COLONIAL SUGAR COMPANY
AMENDING SETTLEMENT DEED (United r.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) Reed. 9.5 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. The directors of the Colonial Sugar Refining Company propose amendments to the deed of settlement to prevent the transfer of shares to a trustee company, unless the beneficiary, or representative thereof, is associated with such company’s officers. Thus, the owners of shares are assured of voting rights. The total of issued shares is 292,500.
The directors regard the position as dangerous, as many shareholders nave no real interest in the company. A statement of the other side of the question is to be circulated by various trustee companies.
