prospects in n.z. not BRIGHT Evidently times have changed at the High Commissioner’s office in London. Intending immigrants are now warned that there is a good deal of unemployment in New Zealand and that the chances of obtaining work are not too bright. Three young Englishmen, Messrs. M. Shaw, A. B. Poole and R. J- Poole, who arrived by the lonic this morning from England, said that they were told not to come out when they made inquiries regarding prospects in the Dominion. However, they are fortunate enough to be in the position to contemplate taking up land and made the tripAll three are agreed that the booklets and information obtainable at the High Commissioner’s Office paint a much too rosy picture of life and possibilities in New Zealand.
