Cycle Rider Breaks an Elbow.—Mr. H. E. Adams, stationmaster at Frankton Junction, fell from his bicycle and broke an elbow yesterday. He was admitted to the Waikato Hospital. Taxi-Driver Hurt. —On its way from Hillend to Balclutha. near Dunedin, with two passengers, a taxi driven by Angus McDiarmid, of Balclutha. capsized over a bank. The passengers were unhurt, but Mr. McDiarmid had an arm broken. —Press Association. Charge for Impounding Water.— Suggesting that £lO was an excessivecharge for the licence to impound tidal waters at Otahuhu. a company wrote to the Harbour Board asking that the fee be reduced by half. The board decided that the charge was reasonable. Civic Square Leases. —Boring.- ar now being made to determine the foundations necessary on the portion of Civic Square leased by Civic Properties.
