TAKAPUNA BEATS FRANKLIN (From Our Own Correspondent) WAIUKU, To-day. A team from Takapuna played Franklin at Massey Park, Waiuku, yesterday, and after an interesting game the former was victorious by 34 runs. Batting first Franklin knocked up 162 runs (Hodgkinson 50, Mulgan 34, Gilroy 37 and Watson 14) being the only batsmen to make a stand. Takapuna scored 196 (N. Clark 56 retired, F. Woods 36, Burton 25, W. England 22, N. W. O’Brien 26 and C. Whitbread 10 being the principal scorers. Clark. 5-48, and O’Brien 3-2 S, bowled well for Takapuna, while Heise, 3-27, Mulgan 1-45, Cooper 1-25, Brook 1-31, and Watson 1-13 were the most successful of the Franklin bowlers.
