FRANKLIN SUB-UNION MEETS (From Our Oxen Correspondent) PUKEKOHE, To-day. The annual meeting of the Franklin Rugby Sub-Union was held at Tuakau on Thursday evening, Mr. A. J. Maiden presiding. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £ls 3s Sd on the year’s working. +i In t is re P° rt the president stated that the senior grade competition was won by Onewhero. and the junior and third grades by the Pokeno clubs. The formation of a Franklin referees’ association had proved very beneficial to football. The Franklin Sub-Union had won the South .Auckland Union’s senior championship for the second time in succession. In the Imperial Challenge Shield competition the Te Kohanga seniors had been winners. The past season had been a particularly bright one for the union, and a very successful one was looked forward to. Officers elected were:—Patron, Mr. Dynes Fulton: president, Mr. R. J. Glasgow: vice-presidents, Messrs. W A ; H Murray, K. D. Orr (Pukekawa), S.* Taylor, ,T. Fulton (Tuakau), AV alton, B. Phillips (Onewhero), J. Townsend, G. T. Proude (Bombay), G. Rodgers, G. Pope (Pokeno); secretary. Mr. AV. O. Howe; auditor, Air. P. i P I J; a T y; delegates to South Auckland Union, Messrs. J. Mill and P. A. Hillary; senior selector, Mr. W. A. Smeed; junior selector, Mr. C. J. Leathern: timekeeper, Mr. A. Drake*" Press representatives, Messrs. P. A. Hillary*, J. C. Lyne, and G. E. Martin: delegate to Franklin Referees’ Association, Mr. R. J. Glasgow. It was decided to commence the inter-club competitions on April 28.
