REVOLVER GOES OFF

RABBIT-SHOOTER INJURED KILLING CAPTURED “BUNNY” (From Oar Own Correspondent) PAPATOETOE, To-day. While rabbit-shooting at Wiri yesterday afternoon, a youth named Ronald Charles Docherty, 14 years of age, who resides with his parents in Landscape Road, Papatoetoe, was wounded in the stomach by a revolver bullet. Having captured a rabbit, the youth proceeded to kill it by hitting on the head with the butt of the firearm, which discharged, and the bullet entered the boy’s stomach. It struck the pelvis bone, and lodged in one of his thighs. Dr. Ross, of Otahuhu. rendered medical attention, but failed to locate the bullet, and Docherty was removed to the hospital, to undergo an X-ray examination.
