PEOPLE HIS STUDY By Cable. —Press Association. — Copyright , Reed. 9.5 a.m. SOUTHAMPTON, Friday. Mr. Henry Ford and his wife have arrived here. Asked about the removal of the rubber export restriction by the British Government, Mr. Ford replied: “1 think that it is a move in the right direction, but I do not know about it.” He declared that the purpose of his visit was "to see the English people.” "I am particularly interested in people. /n fact it’s the only thing I am interested in. I have no particular plans.” He said he was not going to the Continent. “One country at a time is enough,” he added.
He denied that there was any truth in reports of American unemployment, saying: “There may be 5,000,000 or 50,000,000 unemployed, but they don’t want to find work.” It is Mr. Ford’s first visit to England Since he brought his famous Peace Ship in 1915, with a party of Americans bent on ending the war. — A. and N.Z.
