BOY’S LEG BROKEN

COLLISION WITH CAR FIRST DAY ON BICYCLE A boy of 13, Martin George Benison, of Lake Road, Northcote, will always remember the first day he rode a bicycle on a public road. That was yesterday. He was Involved In a collision with a motorcar and received a compound fracture of the Left leg. Benison Kad just learned to ride a bicycle and, with a companion, had gone for a spin on Glenfield Road, near the Highbury Corner, Birkenhead. Apparently the boy got nervous when a car driven by Mr. A. M. Pickford approached. He swerved and the front wheel of the bicycle caught the front of the car. Benison was thrown on the mudguard of the car. First aid was given by Nurse McKenzie, and later the boy was taken to the Public Hospital by the North Shore Ambulance.
