REAR-ADMIRAL COLLARD
Sir,— Against the finding of the Naval Court I have nothing to say. If a breach of naval regulations has been committed, then punishment must, I suppose, be inflicted. But what can be done with an Admiral who fails to return the salute of one of his officers and uses language to a bandmaster that can only be represented by dashes in the newspaper reports? We have all heard of choleric admirals, but personally I never heard of anything which exceeds the conduct of RearAdmiral Collard in provocativeness It is certainly not in accord with our splendid naval traditions. OLD SALT.
