BACKERS BAFFLED

MANY stay-at-home backers who have been waiting for The Tiger to step out again missed the bus badly last week, when the trotter’s name was omitted from the acceptance cards published in Auckland. Just how this came about is difficult to understand, but SUN readers were on the right track, as Corrigan’s horse appeared in the list published in Friday’s issue. Consequently they were able to be on. It is not by any means an uncommon occurrence for horses, whose name have been omitted from the list, to be returned the winners. The Tiger won, and did it easy, and his friends should not forget he is an acceptor for the Manaia Trot at Hawera on Saturday.
